Check you registration email carefully!‍ ‍If you joined the [WAITLIST], it will be noted next to the session name. If you did not pay and did not have a discount code, you are NOT registered. Make sure you know the dates of your course. The Academy start date will be noted at the top of your registration. Please reach out asap if you have any concerns.

Cancellation: You have until February 28, 2026 to cancel and receive a 90% refund. If cancelling between February 28 and March 10, you will receive 50% refund. Cancelling after March 10, there are no refunds.

The $5 registration fee is non-refundable.

No refunds will be given for “No Shows”. Please contact the Academy if you need to substitute one employee for another. All cancellations must be made by email request to info@azwima.org.

Registration: Closes March 1. Registrations made after this date will be based on availability and will incur a $100.00 late fee. You are able to alter your registration before this date. If you registered for multiple courses and choose to drop a course, the cancellation policy will come into effect.

Lunch is included in the cost of your class (Breakfast is available for purchase at ERAU cafeteria).

Wildland Fire Learning Portal: An account is necessary for many courses this year. Please monitor the portal as your instructor may use that for all communications prior to the academy and require pre-work to be completed. If you didn’t submit your email used for the portal during registration, please create an account and update your registration.

Morning Briefing is mandatory and takes place daily at 0715.  For your first day of class 1, you are required to attend in person at the DLC Auditorium on campus. After that, instructors will provide direction on attendance for the duration of the course. Classes start promptly at 0800 each day unless otherwise stated by the instructor.

You must check-in to the academy on day 1 and complete daily attendance. Check-In will take place in the Lower Hangar (Building 16). In order to obtain a certificate of completion for the course, do not make travel arrangements to arrive after the scheduled start time or prior to the course completion time. Any student failing to attend the full course instruction and meet requirements of the course, including field days and exams, will not receive a certificate. Daily attendance will be taken each day in the classroom.

Dress codeIn order to promote a professional educational environment, a dress code is required for all course attendees. Casual attire is appropriate with sturdy, closed toe shoes, long pants, and shirts without holes or offensive material. Shorts, skirts, open toed shoes/sandals, tank tops, and any revealing/offensive clothing is not permitted. Attendees in violation may be removed from their course without refund.
